This is one of our driveway crew
The youngsters crouch beside drive whist parents go into defence mode.
The youngsters don't seem perturbed and stroll around after short time, even pulling worms :-)

Great series Richard, #3 is quite evocative.:-)

Even at 1/160 sec, those rain streaks look long and heavy in #2.

Cheers

Dennis

There were some volunteer workers digging up invasive weeds along the Oxley Creek Common and this attentive Grey Butcherbird was patiently waiting nearby to feast on the worms and insects disturbed by the digging.:-)

Here we also have a Galah eating breakfast.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Dennis, much appreciated
The rain was INTENSE to say the least. There were huge sheets of water where that plover was and thankfully they kept out of it.
I was surprised by those long streaks of rain.

No 3 was typical and I have one not so good of plover nearly prostrate. Thankfully they are getting used to our coming and going and don't get so distressed now.

It was wet Lyn and thankfully we didn't get affected except for water across our drive at the creek but passable to 4WD
Others didn't fair so well lower down the catchment and evacuations are happening right now in some parts.
Still nothing compared to huge parts of Victoria by the looks of things - so sad

these two have been hanging about for some time
They love this powerline to sit and watch before pouncing on a poor worm below.

The rain must have really come down hard to get those long streaks. The pictures are wonderful.

Too much water is a thing to fear. I’m glad you are not affected, Richard. Stay safe.
