That is lovely Lyn.
A bird we don't have here.
They are very attractive. If their antics are like our fantail it sure would be an interesting bird to observe

Thanks Richard, I think they are like your fantails, always a bit curious and funny.

I noticed this Kookaburra has a crossed bill
Never seen that on a bird before but have seen worse on this forum
This is mild compared to some posted here
Certainly doesn't seem to be an issue

This is the worst case I have come across, taken when the poor bird was perched on the Hills Hoist in our back garden in March 2008 on the old Canon 40D.

Cheers

Thanks Sogs. Indeed he doesn't look to be missing out, and certainly can pull up worms. :-)

The Little Wattlebirds are about and hopefully nesting. They have been cavorting about the trees frantically
I watched this one and realised how well they meld into the vegetation.
They have really attractive plumage

He probably does not realize he is different from any other bird.

How can you tell the sex of a kingfisher? I often see this distinction made. The kingfisher ladies and gents look alike to me.

From this angle you can’t really but she’d been sitting with her back to me earlier. For this species the black head colouring extends down the back to the blue wings in the female, whereas the male has a white ‘collar’ around the back of his neck.

A NT Willie Wagtail. And why I say a "NT" Willie Wagtail is because I reckon they look slightly different to the ones I used to see down south. Thats assuming it is infact a a willie wagtail?..Anyone?

Pretty sure it's a juvenile Willie Wagtail, hence the duller colour overall and buff-coloured eyebrow and wing feather edges. It is a different race in the north to down south as well.
