For all of you who love fairywrens, a post about a long-term fairywren project popped up on my Facebook page, and I thought some of you might like to have a look at this:

https://science.anu.edu.au …CWrjb9cnl2FTtSndE92blSrkw (external link)

Thanks Ulrike. Good to read

Interesting, she describes A young male superb fairy-wren known as Sir Nyn who’s yet to moult into the bright blue breeding colours.
I always thought that would be a female. Orange lore and light coloured beak.

From Saturday evening at Lee Point dam. The Paperbark Flycatchers are busy with three healthy chicks :-)

Beautiful.
Fascinating nest.
Not sure I've seen one so like the tree it's built in, on.
Made out of the paper bark it can hardly be anything else.

Everyone's getting in on the act. Spangled Drongo (external link) at Holmes Jungle, near Darwin.

And a fair bit of spiderweb to bind it all together.

Australasian Darter (external link) on her sunset roost, getting a bit nervous at my presence. I was hoping she'd fly but she must have decided I wasn't too much of a threat and stayed put. At McMinns Lagoon.
