Dennis this is an outstanding capture of a really magnificent bird.
Amazing details and colours. You really brought out the sheen and depth of blues so beautifully.

this morning I was treated to a wren display.
I was weeding when two males flew onto the fence beside me and looked about for a while then headed to the shrubs on side of drive.
I suspect there's a nest about in the shrubs and males and a female were very prominent and yet didn't seem agitated with my presence and went about their chores and at times posing for a while before heading off again only to return.

Here we have a Wonga Pigeon, or Wonga Wonga, a large, plump, ground-dwelling pigeon with a small head, short, broad wings and a long tail. It is a shy bird, except in areas where it has become used to humans, it will take off with explosive wing-claps if disturbed.

Next we have a White-headed Pigeon on the balcony of a lookout, taken early in the morning in the Lamington National Park.

Both tend to scuttle away into the undergrowth once the day visitors begin to arrive.

Thanks Richard, I may have to re-visit the colour balance as the feathers are more towards black than blues - I've just started using the "ON1 Effects 2023" Plug In in PS CC, blended in on a Layer at 50% Opacity, which might account for the colour shift.

This is where the photo shoot started. One of the two males that lobbed up on the fence near where I was weeding.
I had taken the camera just in case or actually hoping I'd see some
Uncropped - quite close. It just sat staring at me.

On 10 Nov the oriole nest outside our door had (at least) two babies.

A while later my wife had picked it up off the lawn after it had fallen from its branch.

I got a ladder and put it back in its nest so its mother could come for it. Later the nest was empty and the baby nowhere to be seen. I hope it survived.

More birds I've never heard of nor seen. Nice captures!
