Australian Shelduck ~ Tadorna tadornoides
magnificent birds. These live at a local arboretum with several small dams
Not sure why they built the platform so far from shore? Bit far to see

Gorgeous birds, Richard. And very different from the shelducks we have here.

A curious little Red-backed Fairywren decided to walk across the path at Lee Point Dam last evening. It must have been a relatively young one as they are usually hiding as soon as they see you and don't cross the road just a few metres in front of you

Very nice Ulrike
Love the poses and the setting
Not familiar with yours but it does have a youthful appearance.
It's beak has "that look" of a juvenile, moreso in second image

It's rather cute :-)

Thanks Levina. They are very attractive indeed.
They also have a very distinct sound and it's lovely to hear them on the dam at dusk when they're settled and seemingly oblivious to your presence. Quacking away to each other.

Thanks, Richard! It's difficult to distinguish between an adult female and young ones, but I thought the behaviour was also more that of a youngster :-)

These Rainbow Lorikeets tend to go a little crazy when we have scattered rain showers, they flit between the bird bath and the roof gutters, shrieking in delight as the rain falls.:-)

Cheers

Rose Crowned Dove from today. These are a hard bird to get a decent shot of because they dont come very close and normally stay high high in a tree so very lucky with this capture!

Absolutely fantastic shot, Clipper. Does Canon G/tee these shots if you invest in the R5 and 600mm f4.:-)

Juvenile Jabiru is starting to get the adult colors. Junior is also getting used to me as he is now coming as close as 7-10 meters from \where I sit . I recon if I had a bucket of fish with me he would come and get it out of my hand he looks so relaxed :)
