Dinner time at Fogg Dam. This Pied Heron tried to get away with his catch, but in the end, he accidentally dropped it, and an egret got it. There is always someone watching and trying to get your dinner :-)

This might be the same porcupine my dog unfortunately tangled with last week (my dog is 100% recovered after removing dozens/hundreds of quills and a visit to the vet, hopefully he learned his lesson). Thankfully this cute fella was further back on my property and not under my front deck like the last one was.

What a painful lesson. He won't do that again.

tern in flight...lucky to have a multitude of fantastic backgrounds they were flying in today all lit by strong sun . And backgrounds at a good distance so that they get super crushed by a long telephoto even at higher F stops
