Apparently so. I just nicked them from her Facebook page and did a bit of PP on them

I posted shots earlier in this thread of a breeding pair of Powerful owls. Unfortunately chicks did not survive. I heard trilling a few times over a week and then no more. Owls located around Georges River in Sydney and this year none of the known breeding pairs north of the river successfully bred. I have two pairs nearby by will continue to observe those.

Evidence of Powerful owls, white washed foliage and two humerus bones from a Grey-headed flying fox:

The pair responsible:

Consolation prize for missing out on Powerful owl chicks will (hopefully) be Tawny Frogmouth chicks.

Got this one the other day at some wetlands 40k outside Melb ....He is the smallest Ive seen ( except for babies just hatched) He wouldnt have been anymore than 2inches in size...Ive seen these birds before but never this small. .I heard him first and then when I looked for him I had to hunt hard till I saw this tiny littlee thing a few meters away. Not sure what type it is?...Anyone?

That is very nice. I like how you have managed to retain the texture and detail in the feathers. I often see these “blocked” up, especially the bright blues, greens and yellows with these outrageously colourful characters...

Cheers
