these two Superb Fairy Wrens were in the apple tree for ages.
They snuggled up together, preened each other and themselves, stared at each other and me.
It was a very special 5 or more minutes watching them.
They were somewhat hidden and not easy to photograph, but the pleasure was in watching not getting a photo of note

These birds (and others) were in full frenzied flight this morning. I watched with amazement a squadron of these Little Wattlebirds fly straight towards the window as I gazed out into the new day. Then they veered up and over the roof.
The sounds they, along with their cousin the Yellow Wattlebird, the Grey Shrikethrush and Magpies was intense and beautiful.

Brown Thornbill - Acanthiza pusilla
These little beauties seem to enjoy company with the Superb Fairy Wrens but they are not obliging in coming too close, not like the wrens

The last two days have been perfect autumn weather here and the birds of all sizes have loved it.
These Yellow Wattlebirds are so fast and playful, mixing it with the Little Wattlebirds.

Couple from Todays vist to Weribbee Treatment Plant where they have a pair of nesting Brolgas. Also spotted 2 Orange bellied Parrots however too fast for me to get a decent shot . Only approx 40 of these left in the wild so very rare sighting for me .

first image is a white fronted chat

Sure would be nice to see the Orange Bellied Parrots.
They're having a very hard time here from sugar gliders and logging.

These photos are beautiful. I love the chat. It's very nice.

Curious. I see references in photography forums re treatment ponds.
Obviously allowed there.
Not sure we could go to such here. Insurance issues and everything else.
My work rubs shoulders with our waste management agency.
I'd love to hear how you go there as I'd like to ask TasWater what their thoughts are here?

Thanks Graham on all counts.
It's an excellent resource going begging and I commend Melbourne Water for allowing such, albeit in better times
