Tasmanian Native Hen ~ Tribonyx mortierii
They are usually very flighty birds but a couple have got so used to me they just look up or continue their antics - in this case leg stretching. It went on for a short while then resumed eating
These two just sat about whilst I did my thing which is really unusual for them

another overcast day and the Sulphur Crested Cockatoos descended on us and roosted in a dead gum.
They sure are clowns and this couple had a pick at each other for a while

She'd better watch out for the pheasant plucker!

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Windy and wet and yet these little beauties persisted.
far from ideal conditions but was surprised by the outcome which was far better than I imagined.
They looked so cute sitting there soaking it up.

today saw the most number of different birds I've seen around the garden
Wrens galore including a male in nearly full colour, Golden Whistler, Silvereye, Little Wattlebirds, Magpies, Crows, 'A Hawk' - still identifying that, Cranky Fans, Yellow-throated Honeyeater, Kookaburras, and then on the dam two types of ducks, Black Swan, Grebes (plus a few Platpyus :-) )

Golden Whistler ~ Pachycephala pectoralis
