Four beautiful photos Dennis
Love them all.
You certainly captured them beautifully in their natural environs.
The Plover certainly is watching and ready.
The chick is so nice

You must have been fairly close.
The light on the Grebe is beautiful. Really nice composition.
Thanks Richard, I appreciate your comments.
With the Plovers, they were on a grassy embankment and I was on a lower path, almost at eye level with them. Even though only my head and shoulders were visible above the stone wall, one of the Plovers dive-bombed me so I took that as a signal to move on.
I'm not sure if Plovers make physical contact like the local Magpies, but it felt awfully close - hopefully good airmanship by the bird.
The Grebe was at the west side of the lake and I was shooting into a low sun rising in the east, so I used an on-camera flash to try to lift the deep shadows, but without making it look too unnatural - quite challenging lighting conditions and the little blighters don't stay still for very long.
Cheers
Dennis
