I bought 2 x 512 Ridata CF cards since they had a good review at DPreview. To begin with they worked nicely, but recently (and i owned them for 2 months), the one card tends to slow up the 10D dramatically....

Whenever i shoot 3-4 rapid shot in RAW, the camera slows up, working like a horse for 1-2 minutes for preview.... also i cannot take other photos while this process is ongoing.

What is wrong ?

CeeCee,

Sicne you say this is only happening on one card of the two, it doesn't seem likely to be a camera. Have you tried formatting and checking the card in a reader or PCMCIA card?

Regards,

CeeCee,

As Roger suggests, if you have a CF-card reader, try reformatting the Ridata CF-card from your PC first - then reinsert the newly formatted CF-card into your 10D.

Occasionally CF cards need to be reformatted using a PC to maintain reliability in your camera. I have seen this a couple of times myself. What I have noticed is after a few trips back and forth between my PCs and my camera, a CF-Card can sometimes get corrupted - not badly enough to stop working completely, but badly enough to behave oddly in my D60. A fresh reformat from a PC has always cleared up similar trouble for me.
