Alright, how about color correction though??
If you can get white balance correct in camera, that would be your best bet, otherwise you can fix it with some software, like Sony's video software vegas

I can't really speak for ML having never used it, but as for focusing with video you really want to just use a wide angle lens (not super wide) I use a 35mm f1.4L and take it out of auto focus mode and into manual. to follow moving subjects there are some really cheap alternatives you can make as a "follow focus" instead of buying a pro rig/follow focus setup. Just check out youtube. I enjoy watching "film Riot" they are all about producing pro quality work with "at home" tools for DSLR video shooters. I hope this helped.
