I was reading a couple of photo mags and the lens charts showed Sigs, Tamrons and Tokinas with better scores. I got a couple more mags and they had same scores. Wodering why Canon is behind in all these charts.

A photograph is worth a thousand words, but Photoshop can produce a thousand lies. Photo editing allowed. I need all the help I can get.

I'm curious which camera mags? I know of at least one that has had similar tests and just happens to be loaded with tamron, sigma, and tokina ads. But it also comes down to comparing like for like. Several of the good but older canon lenses are compared to their newly designed counterparts. lens design technology has progressed considerably and canon is in the process of upgrading some of their L series most used by professionals 70-200 2.8 IS II and 24-70 II for instance.

Thats because Sigs, Tamrons and Tokinas spend more on advertising in those magazines than Canon.

Yes, that is what I thought. Ad dollars at work.
