So I have a cheap tower, picked up from Bestbuy, its original plan was only for web and email for my wife, however my machine died and I currently do not have teh funds to get another, so I am now using this cheap tower for photo work.

It has an AMD E1-1200 APV w/ Radeom HD Graphics 1.4GHz Processor. Currently with 4GB RAM.

I was just given by my boss 2 8GB sticks of RAM that he ordered for his work computer and now can not use (http://www.newegg.com …aspx?Item=N82E16820233299 (external link)). Can I use this in my tower?

Sorry I understand how to use computers but am still learning how to build/upgrade and understand all the inside stuff.

That's a mobile processor, and not a very good one at that, performance wise. Whether you can use the RAM or not would depend on a few things, but the biggest question is whether your computer uses SO-DIMM or DIMM RAM. SO-DIMM are smaller ram sticks than your boss gave you and are commonly used by laptops and perhaps compact towers with mobile processors like the one you have.

That would explain why the computer sucks using LR and PS lol. Using Windows 8 I was having issues finding the screen that tells you all the specs of the components in your computer.

Just go to your control panel, it's essentially identical to Windows 7.
