is it just me?
So i'm on the home stretch to going full frame..(about 2months away)

i currently have a t4i and a sigma 18-35 1.8 as well as a canon 50mm 1.4

So i've been putting a little aside for the FF camera and a compatible lens (the sigma of course isnt)for a while now and im almost there.. i've thought about keeping the t4i and sigma as a secondary , but what do i need a secondary for? , i dont photograph for a living..and the money i could get from selling would put me right where i need to be for what i want , a FF camera (torn between 6d and 5d3with a 24-70 LMii)

so i'm soon to be putting up both of them for sale here... but i'v formed some sort of sentimental feelings toward my most used(and first) setup ,,( i use the 50 as well but just when doing a portrait ) .

As i hold the sigma in my hand , i'm finding it hard to say goodbye..i almost just want to keep it because it was my first

I hate selling anything. Not sure why, and makes no sense, but it doesn't matter what I have I just have a hard time selling things. Probably some partial hoarder mentality, who knows?

Doesn't help you, but no, you're not the only one!

Ditto, I hate selling or parting with my gear regardless if it is camera gear or another hobby.

I'm just about really to sell my Canon 400 2.8 IS and that is proving to be very hard to let go off.

I usually don't part with my "stuff" very often. I'd hang onto the t4i because there maybe something you could use it for in the future. For instance, if you were getting pictures in an environment where the camera could get damaged or lost. If you wanted to do time lapse things you wouldn't be putting all of those shutter counts on the FF. There are many reasons to keep it. And, you could also lend it to someone that you'd like to teach the use of a DSLR.

A bunch of equipment softies. I have no attachment to any of my equipment. It's stuff just like the millions of others out there. A bunch of plastic, metal and glass.I buy when I need it, sell when I don't any longer and never feel sorry or loss when it's gone. I sometimes feel regret like when I sold my 10-22 because I thought that the 17-40 on a full frame was a better choice and regret that decision, but i don't feel for the lens.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

i kinda got attached to my first (of two) 1Dmk4 - it was brand new when i got it, and over 3 years i have put every little scratch on it, most of which have a story attached.
but then work upgraded me to a pair of 1DX, and i happily handed it back.

I am going to try and purchase it when it is disposed of though.

My gear is simply a tool of the craft and if it is not being used it is gone.

Never sell your 1DS2. I did when I got my 5D3. The 5 is better in just about every way apart from build, but the 1 puts out files that (I found) are more tweekable.

I attach to anything, which makes me a collector. I can't sell, and I can't throw away.

That's called hoarding. :)

My two most expensive hobbies are shooting and photography. I don't sell anything. I have guns that haven't even been loaded in over 20yrs but they still make me happy to own them.
I also still have my EOS 650 and half a case of film for it. It has no intrinsic value anymore, but some great memories for me.
Fortunately, my family is the same way, so I now have a nice collection of old cameras going back over 80yrs that family members had, out grew, and wouldn't part with. I also have firearms that are over a century old and still function. I only have them because family members kept the old while moving to the new.

It's through our "hoarding" or whatever that we retain the history of our hobbies.

Someday one of my descendants will be looking at my old EOS or my 5Dii on a shelf and think "wow, how primitive is THAT".
