I had 3 birds on or near my feeder today that have never been there before. Would appreciate help with their ID:

I am guessing this might be a female cowbird:

Nice shots Joel. As Chakra99 mentioned, the first shot is a Rose-breasted Gosbeak (male) along with the female in the second image. Also the third is indeed a female Brown-headed Cowbird.

Thanks Chakra99 & txcanon,
Wow, that female Grosbeak is quite different coloring than the male, but I can see the similar beaks.

I appreciate the help. This is the first time the Grosbeaks have come to the feeders. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen one before.

Lovely shots Joel.

Thanks to both of you. I was real excited to get some birds that I had never seen before. They may be common else where, but my first time seeing them.

Thank you. I agree that the cowbird came out better. The other 2 could have been sharper. I was "let down" a little when I got them in the LR.
They have been hanging around since I took those. Maybe I can get them on the limb instead of the feeder in the next few days. I have set up a limb beside of the feeder (a suggestion from someone in POTN).

The 70-200 2.8 did give me a nice creamy background on all of them. I like that.

You have beautiful Grosbeaks there. I can not wait until they arrive here. They usually are here for the summer.

Thank you. I don't know if they are just passing through on the way further north or if they will stay, but last summer I didn't see one here in east Tennessee. I feel fortunate to get it, and there is now at least 2 males and females around the feeder for several days. Maybe I can keep them around.

Nice shots of that pair of Grosbeaks (RBGs as they are called ). Whether they hang around depends on your proximity to deep forest and your elevation. I spent 7 years at ORNL so I know my way around East Tennessee, about where are you at?

East of Knoxville, but still in Knox county. Near Forks of River Indus. Park, but up on a high hill and my yard adjoins a very large woods. In fact, my yard is loaded with trees too.
