A camera didn't make a great picture anymore than a typewriter wrote a great novel.

Looks like some HDR going on here for odd appearance/colors in photo 3 though photo 1 also seems to be HDR. I don't care for HDR as it just doesn't look normal unless it's done very, very well. Photo 2 looks like a regular exposed image.

Im not liking the fact that there is not a lot of DOF. Add some of that and do some post processing and I think they will look a bit better!

No HDR. All processed in LR. Maybe went with too much PP????

I will work on the DOF. Not sure what more you would like to see with thr PP, I used LR. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you both for the feedback :D

DOF doesn't mean 'bokeh', it means depth of field. These photos look like they were shot anywhere from f/4 to f/7.1 (to guesstimate), and consequently there is plenty of depth of field in these shots. I think you mean to say you wish they were shot with less depth of field so that the backgrounds were more out of focus. Also, how do you propose adding / removing depth of field in post-processing ?

@OP:
The light, especially in 1 and 2 was not ideal, particularly if you see the raccooning of the gent's eye, especially in 1. It looks like you opted for the best view and the best blue sky rather than put the sun behind them to get a less contrasty more pleasing light on them.

The last is my fave of the set.

These were shot at about 2:00 in the afternoon. I would have loved to shoot them in the morning, but that was out of my control. Trees and people everywhere, along with my inexperience :lol:, made this very challenging. BUT, it was very enjoyable!

Thank you for your feedback!!!

these are actually pretty nice. I'm also trying to figure out the racoon eye solution. I have a flash and can try to put fill in, but that is a delicate balance that will take time to learn.

Constrasts seems to be a bit much? Pulling the colors off.
