Hey what made you get the A7's when you have the 5D3's

How is the autofocus on them, I'm actually thinking of getting a A7s as a backup

1) I can now roll with 4 bodies at a time which is a lot more comfortable than 3 DSLRs.
2) Weight. If the AF in continuous mode was a little better I'd have ditched the 5D MKIII's by now.
3) I always have a 36mm equivalent (24mm on an A7r) and a 55mm (on the A7) available at all times almost instantly. It means I can capture more whilst I have more speciality lenses on the 5D MKIII's.

When the newer lenses come out for the A7 I may even add another body into the mix. There is a 35mm F1.4 (or 24mm F2) and 135mm F2 planned in 2015. I'm also looking at the Mitakon 50mm f0.95 too or the planned 50mm F1.2.

My plan would be to have 3 permanent A7 series bodies with primes on a harness.

An A7 with the 35mm F1.4
An A7r with the Mitakon 50mm F0.95
An A7 with the 135mm F2

However I go it means I can work fast with a lot of variety using lenses for shots that others don't normally have the time to get as it would mean swapping out lenses and carrying a lot.

Already having a 14mm, 45mm Tilt, 90mm Tilt and using the 70-200 with a 1.4x extender (I may replace with with a 300mm F4) means I get angles and perspectives other don't get. Throw a 50mm F0.95 into the mix and you end up with a big point of difference between yourself and other wedding shooters.

This is my typical lens usage for each part of the day on 2 ff bodies:

Preparation: 1635 and 100 macro
Ceremony: 1635 and 70200
Portrait session: 1635 and 70200
Reception: 1635 and 70200 (100 macro for details)

I keep the 2470 nearby for group photos and as a backup lens.
