Photo opportunities in Grand Canyon NP & Antelope Canyon

Hello my fellow POTN'ers,

I will be making a week-long trip to Grand Canyon NP soon, and stop by Antelope Canyon as well. I am aware of only a small handfull of spots that i should check out. But I definitely can use some help from you experienced landscape shooters . Can you recommend any vantage points that I should stop by & fill up my CF cards when i am there? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Around Page there is a lot of stuff to shoot. Besides the slot canyons, there is Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell, Stud Horse Point, Alstrom Point, and about 100 other points of interest... If you're going to the North Rim, and have a 4x4, White Pocket and the Coyote Buttes area aren't too far off of 89.

I would definitely agree that North Rim is well worth visiting - it has a completely different look to the South Rim.

The weather patterns if nothing else can change your shots.

Many people go to Horseshoe mid-day, immediately after visiting Jackalope. This can work OK, particularly if there is some haze or high clouds to soften the light. But, if possible, try to arrange a visit sometime near sunrise or sunset. If time allows, stroll half a mile or so along the rim to the north or south, to attain a different view.

North Rim facilities don't open 'till May 15. The road might or might not be open.

Between Page and N. Rim, stop at Navajo Bridge, the Vermillion Cliffs boulder fields, and consider a hike down Cathedral Wash - a fun, easy slot canyon with drive-up parking. http://www.toddshiking​guide.com …/GrandCanyon/Ca​nyon13.htm

If House Rock Road is in good shape, look into the Wire Pass + Buckskin Gulch hike. It's sorta pretty...

Toadstool Hoodoos are an easy hike, as is the 'Nautilus' formation nearby.
