completely adorable. My suggestion is to avoid placing her in a spot where she's only partially exposed to direct sunlight. Better to put her completely in the shade. great shot tho!

Funny, I like the composition. The bright area behind her head gives nice separation. Keeping the tutu in shadow gives it richer colors than if it was in full sun.

fashionrider isn't talking about the sun illuminating parts of the background. he's talking about the light shining on her where there's also shadow on her torso and limbs.

that said... still a very cute photo and there's nothing harsh about the sun on her face... very nice

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

Right. I was talking with the wife while typing. I like the well light face with the hair ringing it. Arms out of shadow might be nice too, but think of it as a gobo.

Thank you all for your comments. As for lighting goes, I wanted her in full shade, but I rather have nice facial expressions. Getting a 2 year old to be still for a second and look at the camera can be a daunting task when they do not want to cooperate. I was very glad to get this shot because she was completely uncooperative the whole 10 minutes I was trying to get the shot. I managed to get a couple decent ones.
