Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art

So I've had the 50 Art for a few weeks or so, but I just keep getting the feeling like it's not meshing well with my bodies. I'm not a big pixel peeper, but I keep getting the feeling that the autofocus is relatively inconsistent. Even after MFA on both the 1Ds III and 6D, I'm still finding a disappointing number of keepers. I think I'm leaning towards keeping my 50L at this point.

That said, here's a new brew that our local brewery recently (i.e. finally) released in cans. Shot at F/8 and dropped onto a digital background, so it's literally useless as an IQ example, but I suppose it can't hurt...

Received my copy today, needed MA of +3 and it was good to go. Colors are great and sharpness at 1.4 when I can nail it is amazing. Me+50mm+large aperture never really worked out well as I've owned the 50L and canon 50/1.4, but sold them. I think the Sigma might be here to stay though and my 35L might get the boot. SOOC and whatever flickr does at f/1.4:

I thought the AF was pretty good. Nothing is really 'great' on a 5DII, but I was doing pretty well in good light on servo and doing a good 3-4 shot burst.

Couldn't help but notice this hidden in the corner at The Mayo Clinic while visiting my girlfriend this weekend. Turns out it's an original Rodin (ala The Thinker.) I don't know if the campus artwork contributed to their recent selection as best hospital in the world, but it certainly couldn't have hurt.

Adorama has a "Please Note! This Item is on the way to our warehouse and is expected in a few days." message, so hopefully my lens comes in soon.

update: adorama went back to the backordered status.... I don't know if adorama receives less shipments of the sigma 50mm art as opposed to b&h

I may cancel my order with Adorama and go with BH

Picked one up on ebay almost by accident a couple of days ago. Have only made a couple of test shots with it on the D700 and A7r. Balances nicely on the D700 and on the smaller A7r it is still comfortable. AF on the Nikon is nice and quick and accurate too

On the A7r with the Metabones III at around f/2.0
