My wife and I recently lost our baby. This is a teddy bear that a charity called Molly Bears made for us. Photography has been pretty therapeutic, but kind of need to get back to shooting normal things.

Both colored and white bokeh balls make a lovely background. This lens is quite nice. 8-)

I'm still not too sure if I like my copy. It's definitively a huge improvement from Canon 1.4 but It's obviously not as sharp as I've expected (judging from other pictures on this thread). At first I thought that it needed some MA too, but I'm not too sure now, because even zooming in I can't find parts that are completely focused and sharp.

I think thats an issue with shutter speed, not with the lens. Go test it outside on a tripod in decent sunlight it should be razor sharp. You need to eliminate the variables that it might be, and shooting in low light isnt helping you

I got mine last Saturday, was super excited. Put it on my 1DMkIV, took a couple of shots around the house @ 1.4. All out of focus. Fiddled with the MA & it kept getting higher & higher.

+20 was getting me acceptable results.

I then bought the dock. Adjusted it to +10 & then +11 on my camera. The last lot of testing was done with a LensAlign but quickly & not in the best lighting.

Going to take some real world shots on the weekend.

This is by far the greatest adjustment I have had to do on my 1DMkIV.

What a let down it's been so far vmad
