I am about to purchase this piece of glass cause it is in my budget right now. I currently own a 35 art and love the new art line. I've seen raves about the glass but I've also seen negative reviews. I had a canon 50 1.4 a few years back and loved it but I've been shooting my 135L exclusively for all my recent portraiture but indoors it's very restricting and want another prime lens. I want the 85 1.2 ideal but right now that's not in the cards so I figure why not go with the 50 art since its in my range right now and have my 17-40L to sell to help fund the purchase. JOEY
