This lens is so sharp!! My 99 Z28, that I have owned for the past eight years. Light painted w/ and HDR background composite.

Author shot for a back cover.

I think as a reader of an author I'd prefer to see a bit more depth of field. Do you have anything with a narrower aperture? You've got a potentially interesting background there which has unfortunately been blurred into insignificance by the wide open aperture.

Agreed, what looks like books would be a great backdrop for an author and back cover on a book...the line of his bifocals is also distracting, might take some effort to clone out, but would be worth it.

I agree with you. In hindsight I should have stopped down a bit for sure. He didn't want the actual books in focus though, because they were children books in his wife's library. His library downstairs had a low ceiling and was poorly lit. Thanks for the feedback!

Yes you're right. I considered cloning the lines out. He picked another shot actually, and that shot doesn't show the lines as much. i'll post that one below. It dies have some lens glare from the window, though, which is a drag.

This is one he chose. The bi-focal lines are still there but not quite as obvious. In other shots from this session I had his head turned enough to avoid the glare on his lenses. But in this one he had his head back toward the window a bit. It was his favourite expression, though, so in the end I guess the glare is no big deal. The photo itself will be be super small on the back cover.

I actually have a Sigma Art prime question. I remember reading somewhere on here that someone noted that Sigma Art primes have a green rendering to them. Do they? Am I seeing that in this picture?

This is of interest to me because with the new Sigma adapter coming I may consider the 85 if they ever release it - possibly the 50 as well
