Hi guys, decided to treat myself to the sigma 50mm art. I haven't done any testing on its focus but I can tell you that it looks pretty sharp to me straight out of the box. These images are basically straight OOC with some cropping done. Shot wide open 1.4 . It also helps when you have beautiful models willing to pose for you.(the bribe was ice cream)

Just wanted to post an update on the 50mm 1.4 art. After playing with it for 4 days and taking many photos I ended up returning the lens. I really wanted to love this lens. The lens would not focus at all when using any focus point other then center. I was blown away by its sharpness wide open but not happy with how it renders images. The images look IMO boring. The center point would front focus badly at any distance beyond 10 feet and trying to track anything in servo wasn't great. Maby I just got a real bad copy I don't know.
I ended up purchasing a canon 50mm 1.2l and all I can say is wow. Perfect focusing with all points tracks amazing in servo and the way this lens renders it's images really impressed me. After showing my wife images taken with both lenses she told me that her eyes are always drawn towards the canons images. "They look like magazine pictures " she says. Like I said Maby I just got a real bad copy of the sigma 50mm. I own the sigma 35 mm art and it performs flawlessly and love its image rendering.
To compare I took this at 1.2 with the canon 50mm handheld. I think the canon is sharp enough for me at 1.2
