I like mine too alot... and some of my favorite shots are with the 50A but ironically I tend to not use it much. Not sure if it's the weight, size or what. oh well.

it's great so far. It had the 1.x firmware on it when i got it and i found it had that focus hunting/miss focus issue so I plugged it into the usb dock and updated it to the 2.x... been flawless since then.
I'll dig out some pics and post them up.

I would say your Apple iPhone X takes spectacularly sharp images.

Mind doing a test?

Put it on a Tripod, use 1,4, focus on a ruler (preferably 45 degree angle down).
Put it out of focus, use AF, take one shot, out of focus, next shot etc 3 shots.
Then do the same thing but out of focus (the other way) (first closest then furthest)
See if you have consistency?

Love this lens, decided to show my dedication and take it as my only lens on a recent trip to Sorrento. Whilst the results are good, the effort level is much harder than when I take the trusty 24-105L. Example below is 9 shot pano of the Amalfi coast.

Way too many panos required.

Shots below are single shots.

Think it might be time to upgrade the 24-105L to 24-70LII, only problem is that surely gonna miss the 105mm?

Ian.

I didn't miss the 105mm, at all, 70-105 is nothing really, you can crop that with any camera and get away with it, but I did notice the improvement in IQ which I loved.......

Hype chimping - The act of looking at your screen after every shot, then wildly behaving like it's the best picture in the world, to try and impress other photographers around you.

I do this a lot, just take one lens out with me. I don't worry that I could have got wider shots, or missed something because I didn't have zoom, just make the most of what's in front of me with the kit I have.

It was my wife's 50th a couple of years ago and I surprised her with a trip to California to meet a YouTube idol of hers that teaches hooping - her favourite hobby. I decided to just take the 50 and make a slideshow of 50 shots at 50mm of her 50th birthday trip.
