I got a response from one store "Sorry no new news from our rep. All he said was that Tamron really messed up when they forecasted the sales of this lens. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear something."

That's only true if they have the capacity to actually build more, but didn't because of incorrect forecast. But more likely they just does not have the ability to build them any faster. And it isn't cheap/fast to start a new factory. And it isn't so easy to get someone else's factory to start produce them either.

Or to cut back on the production of some of their other products to increase that of the new lens.

It's a question of what other production they can reduce that is making use of machinery that is able to produce the 150-600. It isn't unreasonable to think that one of the front lens elements is the limiting factor.

Mine was supposed to be here today. Late UPS trailer. I feel like this happens about 75% of the time nowadays...

I called about 30 stores, and found two that just received one each (yesterday).

I ordered from Samys Camera (California) and second one was in Wolfe Camera (Kansas)

I would say call bunch of stores, if those two got one each shipped to them, there is a chance other stores might got some stock, Issue with stores like BH and Adorama is that everyone orders from there, and there is gigantic wait list, and as far as product distribution they might get few more then smaller stores but not close enough to cover all outstanding orders.

my goodness, might as well try to score local. I'm going to wait two more months from adorama, then I will buy local. I want to have this lens during the summer.

Local camera store (Dan's Camera, Allentown, PA). Walked in with cash on 2/28 - walked out with lens :) They said it was the fourth or fifth they had sold.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

I think about that, then I keep telling myself, "We, surely, it's gotta be coming any day." But I've been doing that for a few months, now.

I'm going to the San Diego Safari Park later this month; I would love to have it.

3 stores that I called informed me with same information, that according to their Tamron contact the cameras they received came from the same shipment, and that there won't be another one for a while.

Meaning:
1) if Adorama didn't process your order you will be waiting still, waiting for next shipment.
2) there are other small stores spread around the country that either received 1-2 yesterday or will get one today or tomorrow.

hunt them down ;)
