The conditions weren't great (thus the noise) but you take what you can get.
These are near 100% crops as these birds are house finch size. I need a 500!
It was just finishing coming into summer plumage from winter.

All shot with 7d + 100-400L

Great looking guy there and great looking shots, Jeremy. Something special about that last shot and its composition I really like. About the 500, sure you don't want to set your sights on the 600?;)

Rog I don't feel the 600 is the lens for me. The extra weight does not lend itself to my shooting style.
Handheld or monopod.

Lol the 500mm, I think maybe we both have a problem with lens envy!! Is there a group we can join to help with the emotional effects of this disease Jeremy??? Great shot's anyway lol
