We visit this area a couple of times a year, and made our annual Spring visit a couple of weeks ago. There wasn't a whole lot of action, but these were the best shots I was able to capture.

Nice, Scott. We were on the SC coast all last week and saw almost nothing. Not one Blue and just a few Snowies.

Hey those are pretty good, and I recognize those guys, since I'm at Huntington almost every day. :D
I see you got an egret and GBH standing on "Gator Island".
Every image on my wildlife photo blog was taken at HBSP.

Thanks, everyone. Phil, I remember you being on a first name basis with some of these birds from previous threads. One of these times I need to remember to let you know that we will be there. Our next visit will probably be in October.

Oh yeah, you should definitely let me know when you are here again.
I was there today, watched an alligator take a swan.

Hi Phil. I met you last August when both of us were at the causeway patiently waiting for an eagle to take off from his perch. I am thinking about making a trip there around mid-May. Do you know if there are still osprey/eagle activities around the causeway at that time of the year?

Thanks.

I have not seen any eagles in a while now but ospreys are still around working both the pond side and the salt marsh when the tide is right.
Spoonbills traditionally show up in late June or early July, but we did the one rare April visitor.
