As you can see from the photo, the weather was about to get really ugly at the monument. The drama of the clouds adds a lot to this shot in my opinion.

Luckily, the 2 times I've been there, the weather was pristine. Otherwise id have been a little damp, as I was on my Harley.

I like the angle you took your shot from. Its a lot different from the straight on shot everyone gets.

We were on our scooter at the time, and by the time we got in to Rapid City it was raining pretty hard. But with good riding gear we stay dry.

For some reason, most folks don't stop to get this angle of Washington. . .they just stop at the parking structure.
