gonzogolf dumb remark memorialized More info | May 01, 2014 11:21 | #2 In order to be any help it would be good to know what you intend to shoot? If its events or weddings the 24-70 is the lens to have. For portraits the 85 is hard to beat. You already have a good lens in the walkaround range (24-105) so you cant go wrong with either choice.

May 01, 2014 11:23 | #3 i do events/parties but if im honest, most of it is with flash and my 24-105 is great and i have no complaints with it. though it would be nice to have the 24-70 on one body and the 70-200 on the other. But i dont need it, more of a would be nice to upgrade. 5Dmk4 : 5Dmk3: Sigma 24mm F1.4 :Sigma 35mm F1.4 : Canon 50mm F1.4 : Canon 85mm F1.8 : Canon 100mm F2.8 Macro : Canon 24-105 F4 : Canon 70-200 F2.8L mkii : Flashes, lights & Stuff

Thorrulz Goldmember More info | May 01, 2014 18:44 | #9 I have the 24-105 for Canon and the 28-70 f2.8 for Nikon. If I had to choose between the 24-70 f2.8 and 85l to pair with your 5d miii it would be the 85l easily. That combo is just awesome together. Flickr

May 01, 2014 19:27 | #10 I'd suggest the 85L will actually offer you something new. The 24-70II may not actually be much of an upgrade over your 24-105. If you search you'll find a few recent comparisons between it and the 24-105 that have revealed only very slight differences in real-world shooting. Sony a7rII / 24-240 / Zeiss 25, 55, 85

May 01, 2014 22:37 | #11 why not get an 85 f1.8, the 24 -70 II and then the rest on a nice tripod or roll the rest into a different lens and sell the 24 - 105?
