Nice looking setup Rob.

Is that QBSBD or QBWBD?

This is the 33" white cheetah BD. I just ordered the silver because I like the look without the sock on it. Extremly portable! The vaga is on there to weight the cart, actually it's leftover from the Einsteins that I sold!

It never hurts to have a 110 volt AC outlet when in the field. More useful than a sandbag in many cases.

You can compare the Einstein with the CL-600 in post No. 26 of this thread.....Portability was the main factor for me. It does not have the 640 watts of power as the Einstein but I never shoot at full power anyhow so the rated 500 watts of the CL-600 is more than enough for me.

The sexy Profoto B1 is rated at 500 watts isn't it? And sells around $2k + add ons like the Air trigger etc. does offer TTL - so not directly comparable feature wise.

Well, I saw that spec, but basically the Einstein + Vagabond is about 8 - 9 lbs, and so does the CL600. Am I missing something here?

Your missing that CL-600 is a build portable strobe unit were the Einstein is studio strobe adapted using the Vagabond to be used on location.

They are two different types of units and should not be compared in the same context. That is like comparing VW bug to a Porsche both made by the same company and both are cars, still not in the same category.

I would certainly be comparing and weighing up the options if they were both available here.

They are both battery powered strobes when used that way, and the Einstein head is not all that heavy, so I can't see any reason people wouldn't be carefully weighing up the options.

Not everyone can afford to have both.

True, but like what elv said, are they about the same weight? If so, how much more "portability" do you get from this?

Don't get me wrong, I love my CL 360, and a little more sun-killing power is nice, but at what cost?
