The battery pack and head weighs just over 6 lbs. The battery pack alone is about 3.5 lbs..It's just another option for folks out there.

So you're saving about 2-3 lbs then? How's the space and "lug ability" ?

I have Einsteins as well as a CL-600.
They are different lights, with different purposes.
I took the Einsteins on location with VMLs until I got my first Cheetah CLs. Then they have stayed in the case unless doing something in the studio.

Since someone brought it up, the Einstein mono on the top of a light stand is enough heavier than the CL 600 head to make a big difference in the wind. Naturally, when modifiers are added its another situation but I still think that the CL-180/360 or 600 are much easier to use in the field than the Einsteins.

This is the 33" white cheetah BD. I just ordered the silver because I like the look without the sock on it. Extremly portable! The vaga is on there to weight the cart, actually it's leftover from the Einsteins that I sold!

I like both versions but I love the silver it has a bit more punch. I always pack my VM works great for the smoke machine and leaf blower.

Dang it! I was about to head over to PCB and hit the checkout button on an AB800 and all the fixings (stand, cs, vml, bd, etc.) but I decided I would come here first and I started looking through this thread. Now I don't know again! Wait for the CL-600 or go for an AB800...maybe a 1600 now. Ugh!
