If you want to drain the battery you get a regular house hold light and tape the plug or add some wire on to the terminals of the battery and let the light bulb drain it down.
Or simply leave the modelling light on

Thank you for advice. I will se if I can find a suitable bulb or resistor to drain the battery. But I can't see why draining the battery would help. Then it has to be some kind instability to voltage or in the current it delivers, but atleast the measured voltage is fine.

If I let the unit rest and set it to full power I might get 50 flashes in row before the error occurs, but if I set the power to any less than full I get a maximum of 2-3 flashes. With my (used to better) knowledge of electronics this doesn't indicate any problem with the battery, rather some problem in the control unit. The capasitors must charge since I get up to 50 flashes at full power, so I guess there is something wrong with the control circuit. But I will try to drain and rechage as the vendor suggested and proceed from there... Tor Martin You are correct in your statement. It falls down to 3 things the capacitor, cable, or the strobe head and has nothing to do with the battery unless you have a bad cell and its not getting the proper current. Its nice they have a balance charge plug on the battery, It under the insulation. I don't recommend taking the battery apart and pulling off the shrink wrap to get to it. I AM SHOM

When I store my stuff in the bag now I black electric tape over the terminals to keep from draining the battery and supplying current to the head. This keeps for any shorts that might happen from dropping, bad plug, and ect. The batteries store a lot of power and can cause a fire if shorted out. Sound to me like your lower power capacitors might be bad. Make sense. I used to do a lot of HiFi DIY if we go 10 years back and used to know electronics pretty well. But it fades away when not used

Mine E1 was after maybe 100 pops at full power and I just turned it off and back on and it was fine. Looks like a warranty fix. Yes, must be a warranty fix. Awaiting resonse from Eachshot. Hope to hear from them tomorrow. Thank you for your input. It has been helpful
