I believe it worth the wait because there is a lot things they did to make the v2 what they call bullet proof

Great Pictures Scott.
When you are shooting through the fence. Did you prefocus to that length or using "spot" AF to make sure you are not getting the fence. That's something I never seem to do well.

I use spot focus and it some times is a pain in the ass.

That's one way to reduce light on the subject. :-)
Was it outside as well? Or did you have the light bouncing off walls and ceiling?
reflection in the sun glasses suggest there are some light surfaces nearby.

It was a white room 12 foot ceiling and I raise the light to the ceiling and pointed it down on the model to simulate the sun.

One of the nice things about a bare bulb, throws light everywhere. Turns a room into a really big soft box. :-)
