May not have to jump through hoops but they have put a fairly steep markup on it. £700 for their equivalent of the CL-600... Understand you are getting a warranty etc but when you can get the godox version for £380 including taxes and DHL delivery, seems a bit steep.

Yes the lencarta price does seem a bit steep but when my safari 2 battery went belly up a couple of months ago it was replaced within a week in time for an event I was shooting. So I can recommend them for there after sales backup.

And the fact the price went vertical after launch. The mk1 was £799 IIRC and when the mk2 came out at £599 ish they were a bit stunned, the price steadily rose from there over a short period.

I got the launch price less the photography show discount:D

But there are bargains to be had from HK too!

The Lencarta Safari2 (1st to market) is available without having to jump through hoops and has a 3 year warranty.

The interesting thing is when you stand far enough back and hear all of these 'brands' making claims that they have customised units made and that theirs is superior to the 'similar' looking units from other brands.

No one is making any claims on a superior unit. Facts are facts and version 1 and Version 2 are two different units. Godox just started producing the new units with the new build in updates/features. They also had to remove the name XEnergizer from the units.

So before you start spouting off info you have no clue about, you might want to get your facts straight. Telling people with out knowing the facts is just lying to them Phil.

You can buy Godox/Lencarta/Cheetahstand, but I wouldn't buy any one before Aug 2014 with the Xenergize imprint on it. If you buy from Lencarta ask what the production date is on the unit, since they are not marked with the Xenergizer tag. Version 2 is a more stable unit and less chances of E1 error which is common in the version 1 on some units. Again they are all maded by godox and all have the same specs, some suppliers fug their specs to make the unit look more attractive by lying to ya. Version 1 2013-2014 just changes out the head, version 2 Aug 2014 they beefed up the problem areas to make a more stable unit.

My only response to this is: Really? Is there any need for this level of aggression?

I was discussing currently available units, with someone interested in buying one now!

It's a bit late for me to wait until August for an item I bought in March:rolleyes:

And I'd be totally surprised to find an item I bought in March to be manufactured in August.

My point is I don't care if you buy from godox/lencarta/cheetahstand. The main thing is why buy a lesser unit when a new version will be release. A lot of people want to get the first runs of a new item just to fall short of a better version. Elinchrom did the same thing with the quadras first run was good, but the version 2 was better and all bugs were fixed.

This is why Ed let me get one ahead of time to test and find out the bugs, so he could report them to Godox before he starts selling them. This is the reason for the delay in the Cheetahstands sale of the unit till September. Since Ed warranty his products in house he wants to make sure there is no issues.

I have godox/lencarta/neewer/cheetahstand/elinchrom/profoto/PCB/Jinbei and don't care what brand I use as long as it works and it performs like it suppose too.

I'm sure Ed is really glad of your input, I'm not so sure he'd be proud of the way you represent his brand by shouting down people in internet conversation.:)

You should also bear in mind that this is an international forum, and buying products from the US isn't an automatic decision for everyone.

So before you accuse anyone of ignorance in the future, please bear in mind that not everyone in the world has the same opportunities and outlook as you have. ;)

Thanks for acknowledging that. In your first response you seemed to believe I wasn't entitled to one:D
