so... would you take the CL over a BX500ri and a VML?

May be you misread the thread title or the rest of the thread? ;)

I'm not going to start a post war on which item is better or which one to pick, besides what is listed in the title of this thread.

that's a quadra setup comparison... I don't have a quadra. But there's a used BX on the for sale for $400, plus $250 on a VML. And.... I don't have to change to a bowens mount, or dedicate some modifier(s) to location only.

plus I have 2 Bxri now, and 2 VMLs.

Since the bulb sits off the base so far when I put the bowens to elinchrom adapter on the tube is right distance for proper setting for the elinchrom modifiers. So I got the best of both worlds and Bowens and Elinchrom

How are you liking the 860c? Have you had any time to incorporate this strobe into your work flow?

Happy Shooting:lol:

You will have to go to the V860 thread for that info. ;)

I've been busy working on other projects and haven't had any time for personal shooting. I hope to use it this friday with some hot chick.

I think it's politically correct to mention this link here as the Cheetah Light version of the product is mentioned in the article.

Thanks For posting; Elv always does a great review on new products. Love the read

I did see some comments below and I'll put the my answers on here.

The old EX600 heads will not fire on the New units. They moved one pin in the cable to change the config, so that you need to buy the newer pack.

I stated before in the the barebuld thread that a ring flash will be an add on and that is still on track. Godox said they are not adding the modeling light in the ring flash. I'm guess something to do with heat and tech in such a small closed unit.

f/90 I almost feel sorry for the model, if you start with 1/1
Whats the size of that evil modifier ?
Im looking forward to see it in use, could be a new beach modifier, if the light looks good.

I love to shoot and I aim to please ;)

It is a 17" mirror finish but ribbed like a mola, but this item was produced in the 1940's. Sorry for all the finger prints on the inside of the dish, it from mounting the insert ring. It's like a BD with more output.

Hey Scott, when you get a chance can you post a picture of the Cheetah Donut. I have been curious to see what it is.

I still prefer the old lighter head for usage with indirect modifiers (Apollo-style). The new head looks so sturdy though.
