image sharpening

Hi, hope someone can help, I am using canon digital photo profesional to sharpen and correct my jpegs. this it is doing excellent , when i save to windows picture and fax viwer the files do not look exactly as i have done them , ie not sharpened or as much saturation, can this be corrected somehow? thanks for any info, Jerry

i seem to remember that windows picture and fax viwer displays pictures very differently - I also seem to remember it had something to do with colour management profiles

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer isn't colour managed - don't use it as part of a colour managed workflow. So far as I remember, it completely disregards embedded profiles.

the sharpness you can see when you view it at 100% in that program. It has trouble displaying images larger than screensize. Also as the others have said, it ignores color management.

I found that if i sharpen a full size image in say C1 or CS2 and then view it using XP with fit to screen all the sharpening would dissapear. if i then clicked on view at full size and back again to fit to screen i would then see lots of little white dots where XP was now over sharpening.
I now crop the image down to screen size before i sharpen in CS2, making sure the colourspace is sRGB (in fact i only use sRGB because i either put my shots on line or get them lab printed)and it looks exactly the same when i use XP to view it.
