After shooting kids and families for a few years, I finally got around to a semi-formal "shoot" with my own kids. Semi-formal meant we went out with the direct intention of getting portraits of them (not just candids), but in the process I just let them climb a tree and play - a speedlight shooting through an umbrella was camera left and as close to the tree as I can get it, then a bare speedlight was back a little further and camera right. I was using my 85mm 1.8 at f2. It was cloudy and we actuallly got some sprinkles, so my white balance may not be just right, but we had fun. C&C always welcome.
