What are some brand names of lighting companies that produce top quality (I know that is subjective) products. I know most people in the forum rave about Alien Bees but what are some of the brands that some of the top professionals use? (Once again besides Alien Bees)
BTW don't think that I am knocking them I just would like to see some other companies beside them.
Thanks for the help.

in no particular order...Broncolor, Speedotron, Dynality, Profoto, Norman, Hensel, Elinchrome, Multiblitz

Alien Bees, White Lightning are certainly used by some professionally, but usually relegated to the 'enthusiast'. You can tell a truly pro product in part by the size of the modelling light! 100W-150W...'enthusiast', 250W or more...'professional'

Bunch of cash, but never had any problems with them.
All of them American made if that matters to you too.

Flashpoint II! Great monolights, built like tanks and very reliable! Can only purchase from Adorama. They are workhorses.

Tim,

I appreciate the reply, however I was not really looking for any other information other than manufacturers of lighting products other than Alien Bees. However this topic did have some good info. Thanks.

Larry

As for "quality" being a criteria for studio lighting, I've been very pleased with my Novatron studio strobes. I could have certainly spent more money on lighting but it would not have improved my results.
