There is also an "Audubon's" sub-species with a bright yellow throat that is more common out west. They were formerly considered two separate species but are now considered one.

The Myrtle sub-species winters in the south and on both coasts, migrates throughout the entire US, and then summers (breeds) in the northern USA and Canada.
