My favorite Spring bird. When these beauties migrate through, our bird feeders look like the parking lot at Golden Corral. They take their food very seriously.

Very nice. I had these at me feeder a few days ago and got several shots of male & female. Haven't seen them in a couple of days.
They are beautiful.

Congrats Barry, a beauty of a shot, real nice feather detail. I'm afraid mine has moved Northbound, wah

That's a beauty of a shot Barry...nice & close & clear. When they show up here, I usually just get one pair at a time.

Thanks a lot, Joel. We are at a pretty high elevation here so they tend to stick around for about five weeks. Lucky us!

Many thanks, Al. After looking at their migration map, I’m surprised you don’t see them in MN.

Thank you so much, Ian. Such encouraging critique is like fuel on a fire. Right now we have three pairs and they are entertaining to no end at the feeder. They eat voraciously—they remind me of teenagers at a pizza buffet.
Thanks again!

Haha Barry, that's the look I get just before they fly off :)
You did manage excellent detail even though it's obviously in filtered sun. Love the catch light too.
You and Bret need to keep your eyes peeled and don't give up yet as I still have a couple of males hanging around......yes, thread to come ;)
