If I posted this in the wrong place sorry, I am looking for help. I have always been an SLR shooter but it is getting so expensive to keep up with things and the older I get the less I want to drag all that equipment around. I am not a pro photographer I do this as a hobby only. Macro and birds seem to be my biggest interest. Is there a point and shoot or compact camera in the world that will handle both of these and get good IQ? I appreciate your help.

Look at the Canon SX50 or SX600 both have image threads here and see for yourself

If you don't need the long zoom and are looking for better IQ and a small package look at the S120

I felt the same way as you did Marco315.

I dumped my DSLR and went with a Canon SX50. I have never regretted it - it rekindled my joy of photography because I took my camera out more often because I didn't have to lug so much equipment.
