At the high risk of embarrassing myself I am posting a link to a photo I took today.
http://www.jenshep.com/Jens-Eyes/i-MCSJXNR/A (external link) and http://www.jenshep.com/Jens-Eyes/i-twFd4jd/A (external link) Took the shot with my Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens the cheapie lens. I have high dollar macro lenses and want better quality zoom than this if possible within my budget. Anything out there between 600-700 range? Thanks

Heya,

Pretty much any other 200~300mm lens will get you better. The 75-300 is bottom of the barrel. Can barely give them away even. The newer Canon 70-300 IS would do better and have the same field of view that you're used to using.

Tamron makes a nice 70-300 with VC, as well as a fairly good 28-300 with VC.

Sigma's 150-500 often goes for close to $700 used if you want to try for more reach.

Very best,

Heya,

And I know no one likes to hear "spend more money" but I can't help but see a $700 budget and think: "if you save $300 more, you can get a 150-600mm VC Tamron." That lens is a beast. Very sharp. Excellent for what you're doing, and while yes it costs more, it's not far out of your reach with your budget. Would be really worth saving up for.

Very best,

Nice looking images, I've had my eye on that lens B&H doesn't have it yet. Anywhere you know of? Thanks...
