Somewhat of a surprise visitor to my backyard today in the form of this Cooper's hawk doing it's best impression of a juvenile Red-shouldered hawk
. I didn't think the season had progressed far enough as I've not seen any other young birds, but every indication I got was this one is fairly recently fledged.

Hope you've enjoyed these and feel comfortable enough to share your thoughts.
My apologies both to Red-shouldered hawks in general, and to those who will now misidentify Red-shouldered hawks as Cooper's hawks. Many thanks to mileslong24 and Steve for correcting my ID error
