If it wasn't so far I would be there in a minute. Realize that was fifty years ago and I don't travel as well now. Perhaps you can photograph your lovely wife in some of the interesting areas there and share with us?

Name a site... Have China Beach, Monkey Mountain (Comm site, HAWK missile site, MACV radar), and some sites from Hue and Phu Bai. A retied marine that lives here and I even found boom-boom rock five years ago . Your NOT too old, I see 60's-70's Viet Vets here all the time, they have organized and guided tours of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, Khe San, and the Cu Chi tunnels. Heres the link to the Boom Boom Rock expedition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seo9AmGKkIQ (external link)

Love it. If I had to nitpick I'd say the skin color on the hands is a bit distracting (compared to the color of he face).

Another beautiful picture of your lovely wife. I've also been to China Beach along with millions of American GIs who took in country R&R. I spent eight months in Vin Cam Ranh and later eighteen months in Da Nang, from the base of Monkey Mountain to Marble Mountain. (Never made it to Boom Boom Rock and never heard of it). Actually, my first night in Da Nang we received incoming fire from Monkey Mountain. I was in Camp Tien Sha at the time.

Would like to see photos of gardens, temples and landscapes showing the beauty of Viet Nam. It pleases me that peace came to the country and people but also wonder if BK and KFC is what Uncle Ho had in mind. -?

Doug -Thanks..... I can't do any photography inside the temples/pagodas, my wife is Buddhist and says its bad mojo and a bit rude. Foreigners already have a bad rep, they often go plowing into the temples with their shoes on and fire away flashes blazing while the monks are chanting, anything so they can get that prized shot on Flicker. I'll try to post some landscapes when I have time.
