Why aren't people sharing the lens along with their images?

Most people have meta data on the forum or Exif data available on Flickr if that's their source... if you are that curious

I wish people would indicate what light modifiers they used, when applicable :).

C&C always welcomed...
On my images, of course, and on my words as well--as long as it's constructive :).

Not so much "that curious" as "really interested" in understanding how good images are being put together ... equally, where it applies, in the part bad choice of kit may have played in delivering a poor photo (the latter hardly applies to your own stuff, which is consistently impressive).

I think part of this is just the plain practical problem that Exif information is not attached to posted images that are hosted on Flickr.

In the end, if posters want to add a little essay about what they were trying to achieve and how they set about doing it, that is great and we will all get educated. Light modifiers and more will all feature in the 'story'.

But I don't think it's reasonable to place any expectation on posters to provide this. There are other threads set up for this sort of thing.

I'd really like the basic Exif data, though.

In a few years Mommy and Daddy are going to have a lot on their hands kicking those boys away, lol. She is just gorgeous and so photogenic.

I like this image, but I have to tilt my neck so much to align the horizon... I would like it more if the horizon was level.

I never understood the tilt thing either. Pretty much ruins an otherwise good picture.

I think it can occasionally give an edgy dramatic effect. Maybe in an urban setting and in the context of more striking geometry in the other elements (buildings, etc.). But, in the context of a photo that might otherwise be titled 'A peaceful afternoon by the river', it's really just introduces unwanted visual disharmony.

She is my friend's mom, after dinner with them. I offered to take her portrait.
We tend to take our love one for granted especially our parents.

She has one son and one daughter, they both became very successful in their lives. Her son lives in the States and the daughter in Germany. She traveled to visit them from Mexico often. I can tell she is proud of her children.

Really nice portrait!
