Having spent two glorious days at the Donington Historic Festival, I could bore you with a mountain of shots, such is my enthusiasm for some of the best racing I've seen in years.
The pre-war classics were just fantastic. Skinny tyres and positive camber does not stop them flying in to the corner, they just turn in 200 meters before the corner.
I'm going to need another thread for the Masters Historic Sports Cars ....
1. Greg Thornton get excellent tyres wear as he spends so much time on 3 wheels
2.Paul Waine - De Sanctis 69 - They look, sound and race like the race cars you think about
3. Charles Clegg and India Clegg - Austin Healey Sebring Sprite
4. Malcolm Harrison and Patrick Watts - Volvo Amazon. The exhaust might need an extra tie wrap ....
5. Malcolm Verey and Dennis Welch - Jensen 541R. I still can't find the sweet spot for the Craner Curves photo.
6. Mark Witherspoon - Tecno - The "Screamers"
7. Charles Gillett - Frazer Nash Super Sports. Something internal gave up the ghost in the race (piston broke - seriously). Up to that point he was off and gone. I don't think I've ever seen a more eclectic mix of racing cars.
8. Guy Northam - Bentley 4. A couple of tons, 100 mph+ and drum brakes !
The rest are on the web site ... CC always welcomed.
