sigma 500 Super

So if this flash is set to go on a sigma camera, there is no way to convert it to be used for a rebel xt, is that correct. I found one on ebay for pretty cheap, but its connected to a sigma camera. :(

There are different models of the Sigma 500 Super. Some are made for Canon, some for Sigma, some for Nikon, etc. They're labelled according to the camera compatibility. If the seller doesn't know or specify, stay clear of it.

the seller knows its for a sigma, he is selling the sigma camera with it at a great price and before buying it, i was wondering if i could somehow switch the shoe to use with a canon....i guess not, huh?

Nah they're dedicated to each brand and unlike some Vivitars, the shoes aren't removable without major surgery. You could probably use it in fully manual mode but that'd kinda defeat the purpose of buying a modern flash unit.
