Which bag for day hikes?

I currently use a Lowepro Fastpack AW to carry my gear around, mainly from place to place and in and out of the car, it doesn't spend that much time on my back to be honest, it's just a good rugged bag. Problem is, I do a lot of hiking and it's pretty terrible to carry for more than an hour because it just isn't comfortable enough for a day hike.

So I'm looking at replacing it with something a bit more hiking orientated!

I want to be able to carry:

Two bodies (possibly). Gripped or ungripped doesn't really matter
10 - 22
24 - 105
50mm
70 - 200
Tripod
Flash + transceivers (possibly)

Or a combination of the above

Hydration bladder
Waterproof trousers
Food
Jet boil

I've looked at the Lowepro Rover and it seems like a good option, just wondering what else is out there, I'm not really sure what other bag providers out there are good and who's to avoid etc...

In terms of budget, I'm not sure, It's not a gigantic budget but it is enough to get me something decent around £150 - 200 as I'll be selling the Lowepro I currently have!

Thanks guys!

Have a look at the Mountain series from fstopgear.com. They have a range of sizes and are very comfortable. I have the Loka and have been extremely happy with it. I've had it for about a year now. It fits nicely in the overhead on even a small jet. I have both large and medium inserts, depending on what I want to carry. My back and shoulders no longer kill me vs my old backpack (which had a lousy waist belt).

Yes, F-stop :)

Your budget should be just able to cover a Guru which IMO is their best pack for single day hikes, or a Loka if you need the extra capacity (which you might considering the amount of gear you intend to haul around).

I love my Clik Elite bag. I went with the Escape but, they have a bag for any size requirement.

F-Stop Gear. I have used the Loka for 4 years now and it has been with with me in the Himalayas, New Zealand, Rockies, Alaska and about a dozen other countries where hiking wasn't on the agenda, but it has always been outstanding. Expensive and frequently out of stock but certainly worth it. Get a large ICU and invest in some of the external holders for your main body and an extra lens.

Clik Elite is the most comfortable backpack I've ever owned.

The venture 35 should be able to hold everything that you listed. Te escape also looks like I can carry a crap ton of gear as well.

I love my f-stop Tilopa BC which I use for climbing trips and day hikes. I can fit a 7D with 18-55 STM attached, 55-250mm IS, Sigma 10-20, Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro, 50mm f/1.8, and a full set of extension tubes in a small pro ICU. This leaves a ton of room for climbing gear.

The click elite gear looks really good, problem is, there's no stockist for it in the UK! And ideally I'd like to try before I buy, make sure it actually has a comfortable back system and carries all my gear comfortably too!

Might be looking more towards Lowepro again as it's much more readily available!

Lowepro Flipside Sport 15L AW I had my eye on for a while now.
